As 2021 closed, two generous donors -- a prominent author contributing $5,000 and a longstanding friend of RB contributing $2,000 -- enabled Revolution Books to meet and exceed our $20,000 year-end fund drive goal ahead of schedule. We raised $23,575!

AN URGENT TIME TO SUPPORT REVOLUTION BOOKS

When you donate to RB, you are contributing to the bookstore that is unflinching in confronting these dangerous times, and that challenges people to raise sights to a radically new world. 
* The Rittenhouse verdict in Kenosha greenlights white supremacist murder of protesters by fascist vigilantes. 
* The Supreme Court is on track to eviscerate women's right to abortion and deny women control over their reproductive destinies. 
* The Republican fascist party is moving to ensure they can take power no matter what. 
* The planet burns while millions desperately cross the globe to try to survive. 
* The infighting and conflicts at the top of the system have created a situation not seen since the U.S. Civil War.

The stakes could not be higher for recognizing, understanding, and acting on the potential for revolution in this moment. At RB, through the exploration of the analyses of Bob Avakian (BA); the books we carry; the authors, films, and performance; the dialogue and debate -- we get into why things are the way we are. With the search for the truth meeting the poetic spirit, we go to work on the real solution: the most radical revolution in BA's new communism aimed at the emancipation of humanity. A revolution to overthrow this system, and create a society and world in which human beings can truly flourish and the imagination can soar.

On Dec 3 and Dec 9, Revolution Books hosted benefit events with the artist Dread Scott  who spoke about his 2019 performance piece "Slave Rebellion Reenactment." Over $2,000 for RB was raised during these events.

Over the summer RB held a public forum on the COVID crisis: 
why people must get vaccinated... why people need to be scientific vs. lunatic conspiracy theories... the toxic individualism that leads people to think only of themselves and not society and the world...
and how this system stands in the way of truly coping with such a public health crisis, including America hoarding vaccines while much of Africa is denied vaccines.

In September, Cornel West and Andy Zee held a major dialogue on the 60th anniversary of Frantz Fanon's The Wretched of the Earth, with the question sharply joined: is revolution about revenge, for the oppressed and oppressors simply to change places, or for ending all exploitation and oppression?
